Call for Papers

Authors are invited to submit full (and original research) papers including surveys, tutorials, perspective/colloquia articles on conference topics of interest through the HotCRP (https://notso.easyscience.education/ichtml/2025) by 20 January 2025.

Submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by three reviewers based on technical quality, relevance, originality, significance, and clarity. If necessary, a fourth additional reviewer will be involved. The Program Committee will use these reviews to determine which papers will be accepted for presentation at the conference. The result of the review will be announced to the submitting authors by email, along with reviewer comments, if any.

We are pleased to announce that due to the sponsorship of ACNS authors of accepted papers will have the option to choose between four ACNS journals:

We encourage authors to carefully consider which publication opportunity best fits their research needs and goals. We are proud to offer these options and believe they will provide valuable exposure for the outstanding research presented at ICHTML.

Primary requirements

  • Submissions should be:
    • basically, correct and sound;
    • original (not published elsewhere partly or in full and not submitted to other venues for simultaneous consideration);
    • within the conference scope;
    • presented at the conference (at least one article's author should attend).
  • Up to 2 papers per author (including as co-authors) are accepted.
  • Authors utilizing language models (LLMs) to aid in idea generation or drafting of papers should explicitly disclose their usage, providing complete transparency about the LLM employed (including name, version, model, and source) within the submitted paper; such usage must be appropriately documented in the Methods section or acknowledgement section of the manuscript. Authors are urged to verify accuracy and are reminded that, as named authors, they bear complete responsibility for the entire content of the work..
  • Authors must ensure citations enhance value, remain unbiased, support relevant points, and avoid redundant references—particularly to self or others' works—to manipulate citation scores, maintaining ethical standards. The editors reserve the right to exclude excessive citations if these are considered to be potential acts of citation manipulation.
  • Please disclose any potential conflicts of interest in the acknowledgements section when you submit your article.
  • Authors are encouraged to refer to the Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE) for all aspects of publication ethics (https://publicationethics.org/) and to conform to the ethical rules described on strictly COPE Core Practices, Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, in particular:
    • A single study is not split up into several parts to increase the quantity of submissions and submitted to various edited book projects or journals or to one journal over time (e.g. "salami-publishing").
    • No data have been fabricated or manipulated (including images) to support the manuscript's conclusions.
    • No data, text, or theories by others are presented as if they were the authors own ("plagiarism"). Proper acknowledgements to other works must be given (including closely copied material (near verbatim), summarized or paraphrased), quotation marks are used for verbatim copying of material, and permissions are secured for copyrighted material.
    • Consent to submit has been received from all co-authors and responsible authorities at the institute/organization where the work has been carried out before submission.
    • Authors whose names appear on the submission have contributed sufficiently to the scientific work and share collective responsibility and accountability for the results.

Registration

ICHTML requires that every conference participant, not necessarily a speaker but also a listener, register at the conference. A non-dedicated registration service is provided for this step. We need your registration for:
  1. Personalizing your conference information bundle
  2. Collecting statistical information about session attendance, including social events - for proper resource planning
  3. Letting the other conference participants know who you are to facilitate networking

Registration fee

We are excited to announce that, to support the advancement of high-quality academic conferences in Ukraine, the Academy of Cognitive and Natural Sciences will be waiving all author publication fees. This means that authors will be able to publish their work in the ACNS journals, including Educational Dimension, Educational Technology Quarterly, CTE Workshop Proceedings, and Science Education Quarterly, free of charge.
To further support this initiative, the ICHTML program chairs are pleased to waive the registration fee for all authors. This is a fantastic opportunity for authors to share their research and contribute to the academic community without financial burden. We encourage authors to take advantage of this unique opportunity and submit their work to ICHTML 2025.

ICHTML FAQs

Full research papers

Research articles should contain sufficient background and motivation and present proofs, where applicable, or at least outline such in sufficient detail to enable an expert to complete them. Thus, summaries and mere announcements of papers appearing elsewhere cannot be included, although more detailed versions of, e.g. a highly technical contribution may be published elsewhere later.

Surveys

Surveys should cover a sufficiently broad topic and normally not just review the author's recent research. In the case of surveys, proof of results may be optional.

Absolutely! We understand that not everyone can attend in person, and we are committed to making our conference accessible to a global audience. Remote participation via online platforms like Zoom will be available for those who cannot attend in person. This allows you to join the conference sessions, interact with speakers, and engage with fellow participants from your home or office. We want to ensure that you can still benefit from our conference's valuable content and networking opportunities, regardless of location. Instructions for remote participation will be provided closer to the event date, so stay tuned for more details on how to join us virtually. We look forward to your active involvement in the conference, whether with us in person or online!
  • Changes of authorship or in the order of authors are not accepted after acceptance of a contribution to the proceedings.
  • Requests to add or delete authors at the revision stage or after publication are serious and may be considered only after receipt of written approval from all authors and a detailed explanation about the role/deletion of the new/deleted author. The decision to accept the change rests with the proceedings' volume editor(s).

We would like to clarify that as conference organizers, we do not have any formal relationships with indexing databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and others. As a result, we cannot make any promises regarding indexing conference proceedings or individual papers in these databases.

We kindly ask that authors refrain from contacting us regarding indexing inquiries, as we cannot provide any further information on this matter. If you have any questions or concerns about indexing, we recommend that you reach out directly to the indexing databases in question.

Our focus as conference organizers is to provide a platform for high-quality academic research and facilitate the dissemination of knowledge. We are committed to ensuring a smooth and seamless publication process for all accepted papers, and we look forward to showcasing the excellent work of our authors.
